Media competence is a key skill needed to survive in our information- and knowledge driven society.
CidS! (Computer into schools gLLC) is a nonprofit-organization, which is actively involved mainly in the areas of education and information technology (IT) in Berlin. Founded in 1998 and transformed into a not-for-profit LLC, CidS! was the operational supporter of the same-titled education initiative.
Within the scope of a puplic private partnership and based on a cooperation contract with the senate’s administration for education, youth and athletics, CidS! pulled off numerous major projects for equipment of schools with IT-Hardware, proper training of teachers as well as technical support and assistance. Since the beginning of 2006, CidS! focuses its efforts on facilitating the use of the internet among Berlin schools and youth institutions. CidS! is also involved in fundraising activities for these schools. For this purpose, CidS! operates the so called Berliner Schulnetz (Berlin Schools network).
